Yes. Litsa Credits Ltd. operates as a registered credit-only lending institution in Kenya, adhering to all statutory regulations and the Kenya Data Protection Act (2019).
Who is eligible to apply for a loan?
Any Kenyan citizen from the rural set up in the regions we operate in aged 25 and above with a valid National ID, an active M-Pesa registered line, and a verifiable source of income or a small business. We do not offer our loans and products to people below 25 years, and currently we are in operation in the rural parts of Busia, Kakamega, Bungoma, Homabay, Migori and Kisumu.
How do I apply for a loan?
Applications are primarily handled through our USSD platform or by contacting one of our authorized field agents in your region. Our agents will guide you through the digital onboarding process.
How long does it take to get approved?
Upon successful submission of all documents and verification by our Customer Integrity (CI) team, approval typically takes between 24 to 48 hours.
Can I apply if I'm negatively listed with LCRB?
Yes you can. We evaluate applications based on our internal "Customer Integrity Score." While a negative LCRB listing is a factor, we look at your current ability to pay and the legitimacy of your business.
Are there any hidden charges?
No, our rates are competitive and vary depending on the product type and repayment period. All rates are clearly disclosed to you before you sign the loan agreement. Litsa Credits prides itself on transparency.
What happens if I pay late?
Late payments attract a penalty fee. Continued default will lead to the account being categorized as a "Yellow Case," which involves intensive field recovery and potential repossession of pledged collateral.
Can I repay my loan early?
Yes. We encourage early repayment. It improves your internal credit rating and may qualify you for higher limits in the future.
All payments MUST be made through our official M-Pesa Paybill number. We operate a Zero-Tolerance Cash Policy—never give physical cash to any agent.
What if I don't have enough money in my M-Pesa on the due date?
You can make payment with your Bonga POINTS, simply dial*126# select lipa na boinga points then buy goods, input till no. 9662797, input amount then complete.
If you anticipate a challenge, contact your Agent Care representative or Team Leader at least 48 hours before the due date to discuss your situation.
Can I extend my loan repayment period?
Extensions are granted only in exceptional circumstances and are subject to approval by the Credit Manager.
How do I check my loan balance?
You can check your balance via our USSD menu or by requesting a statement from our Customer Care desk.
What personal data do you collect?
We collect your ID details, contact information, income data, and geolocation of your business to facilitate credit scoring and recovery and the details of the guarantor as the person we may use to reach you in the event you are unavailable..
Will you contact my phone contacts?
We only contact the referees you provided during your application to verify your character or in the event that we cannot reach you regarding a delinquent account. We do not "scrape" your entire contact list.
How is my data protected?
Your data is encrypted and stored in accordance with the Kenya Data Protection Act. Access is restricted to authorized personnel only.
Do you report to Litsa Credit Reference Bureaus?
Yes. As a responsible lender, we share both positive and negative data with licensed CRBs to help build your credit history.
When will you report me to LCRB?
Positive data is reported monthly. Defaulted accounts are typically reported after they remain unpaid for 90 days, following formal notification to the client.
How can I check my LCRB status?
You can check your status via sending an sms request or calling customer care.
How do I clear my name from LCRB?
Once you settle your outstanding balance with Litsa Credits, we issue a clearance letter and update the LCRB to reflect that the debt has been settled.
I made a payment but my loan balance hasn't updated
Always ensure you use the correct Account Number (usually your National ID or Loan ID). If the balance hasn't updated within 2 hours, send your M-Pesa confirmation message to our Agent Care team.
How do I report harassment or abuse?
Litsa Credits has a Zero-Tolerance Policy against agent harassment. If an agent uses abusive language or threatens you, report them immediately to the Customer Integrity Team Lead for internal investigation.
